As with FCP, project settings should be set before using the application for your media. In DVDSP, most of these could be set beneath preferences.

After having set these, it was important to use the Advanced layout, by pressing F3 or selecting it via the menu, like so:
This ensures that you have access to every window DVDSP offers, such as being able to access the templates, as shown below:
Last, but not least, here is a shot of my final project with all assets imported and about to be authored to DVD.
To author the DVD, place a blank 4.7GB DVD in your DVD burner and click burn! DVDSP takes over and does the necessary conversions before authoring and burning the DVD.
It passed the external DVD player test on the television in the lounge, wohoo!
